Online Consult for International Patients
We are solely focused on the prevention and cure of cancer. PET-VCR, one of the world's most sophisticated cancer centers of excellence, employs fellowship-trained physicians and medical researchers who are among the best in their respective fields.
For years, PET-VCR Cancer Center has provided many international patients and their physicians with second opinions. We now extend this service online to make it accessible to those patients who cannot come to us or want to make sure we have something different to offer before making the commitment to come to the United States.
For your online consult, our staff will be available to assist you if you encounter difficulties during the process. Your case will be evaluated by some of the best physicians specialized in cancer care, and your own local physician will participate in the process by providing your medical information and reviewing your online consult with you.
Should you decide to come to Moffitt to be evaluated in person, we will be happy to give you the personalized care you and your family need with special attention to your comfort and your medical and cultural needs.
Services
PET-VCR Online Specialty Consultations can be initiated by a patient or physician. Patients requesting consultations need to involve their local physician. Once the patient and the patient's physician agree to pursue the consultation, the physician registers with the service and completes a patient history.
A PET-VCR HealthCare System specialist will review the case, as described by the referring physician, within three to four business days after the diagnostics have been re-evaluated by a Partners Specialist. A consultation will be sent back to the patient's physician.
How will I get the results of my consultation?
The reviewing physician will send an opinion to the referring physician. Patients will get an email telling them to contact their referring physician when the specialist's opinion is ready for discussion.
All patient information is kept confidential to the patient, the referring physician, and the online specialist. Patient information transmitted over the Web cannot be intercepted or read by anyone other than the referring and consulting physicians.
